simple style

Lately less is more, its all about an edit with simple classic foundations like a white backdrop, a few key investment furniture pieces (always with a modern retro twist) plants, great art works and some vintage, local, handmade or nature finds eclectic as always just like a true stylist) I like home to feel relaxed and easy but I always love a pop of colour! usually yellow, blue or pink lately or even orange ( noting the spine colour of my soon to be released book)

Modern retro home my third book!

Im excited to reveal the title and cover of my third book (out this September) “Modern retro home” for as long as I can remember I have always loved mixing old and new at home and in my work, I love everything about mid century design, all things vintage and anything “retro”

How we live now is inspired by the past, the 50s 60 and 70s were some of the best decades in design, I haven’t always just lived in Bondi, I grew up in Melbourne where I discovered “vintage” and collectible, modernist furniture and design. My early years as a Stylist for Inside Out were time of discovery and learning. I feel like this book goes back to the beginning in a way, in it we showcase a heap of beautiful/ super cool contempory homes from Melbourne and Sydney ( mostly friends) and the book showcases my fresh and accessible style and is packed with ideas, tips and inspiration for everyone and every budget. A huge thanks to Lauren Bamford the books photographer and the whole team at Hardie Grant for making this happen! Oh and yes Sophia my Boston Terrier is on the cover!

PS the Home on the cover is The anglers shack owned by Simone Haag

Big indoor green

Sometimes the most simplest things are the best – here a simple arrangement of greenery gets upsized. Everyone knows I love adding plants to my space – here a couple of jumbo leaves make a  big statement – oh and the best part is this will last ages just keep the water fresh.

Thanks JG

colour blocking

What do you think? yay or nay? on the colour coded book shelves? I think for me it reduces the visual clutter… What colour will my new book spine be! all will be revealed very soon!
